The interconnected Industry 4.0 confronts manufacturers and regulators with new challenges of IT security. How can the security of an automated supply chain across different companies be ensured? Internationally, the IEC 62443 series of standards lays the foundation for a holistic approach to industrial security throughout the entire life cycle of automation solutions.

This online exchange will introduce the IEC 62443 series of standards which the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is currently adopting. It will provide technical insights for experts from industry and government on implementation of cybersecurity standards by companies and trends in cybersecurity certification.

The online event is organised by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and GIZ – the German Agency for International Cooperation – under the framework of the Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure between the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Indian Ministry for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD). The Working Group has the goal to reduce technical barriers to trade and strengthen product safety through political dialogue of relevant ministries and regulators. As part of the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI), GIZ has been commissioned by BMWi to support the Working Group in India and ensure that concerns of the industry are taken up within the political dialogue.

We will share the dial-in information for the online exchange with the registered participants beforehand and we would be pleased to welcome you.
