India
The Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure, jointly led by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Indian Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD), will hold its 11th Annual Meeting on June 24, 2026, in Berlin.
As part of the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI), the Working Group aims to reduce technical barriers to trade, improve product safety, and align regulatory frameworks to enable smoother and safer market access for businesses.
The Annual Meeting provides a platform to present progress and align on future cooperation objectives. During the meeting, stakeholders will explore further collaboration on quality infrastructure, including standardisation topics such as the Digital Product Passport and Artificial Intelligence, as well as conformity assessment processes and market surveillance.
In addition, a separate Industry Roundtable will be held in the second half of the day, focused on an exchange between high-level government representatives and the private sector, complementing the broader stakeholder discussions of the morning session. It will capture the industry’s perspectives and regulatory realities, highlighting the practical impact of Quality Infrastructure on market access, investment decisions, and competitiveness.
