Indo-German Exchange on the DPP

The Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure will host the Indo-German Exchange on Digital Product Passport (DPP) on 12th January 2026, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM IST / 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM CET at the Metropolitan Hotel, New Delhi and online. The Working Group is jointly led by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD), Government of India.

The exchange will explore key topics such as:

  • Risks and opportunities of DPP for international trade
  • Ongoing standardisation efforts in India and Germany
  • Textile Sector Adoption of Digital Product Passports
  • Bilateral collaboration in DPP technologies, including DPP 4.0

Organised under the framework of the Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure, the exchange will bring together:

  • Officials from BMWE and MoCAF&PD
  • Representatives from standards bodies (BIS, DIN, DKE)
  • Other ministries, technical institutions, and industry stakeholders

  • Moderated discussion for 15 minutes based on above inputs on mutual priorities for standardisation.
