On April 21, 2026, the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI) moderated a bilateral expert exchange in Berlin dedicated to advancing a digital, trust-based Quality Infrastructure (QI) ecosystem. Bringing together key institutional leaders from Germany (including BAM, DAkkS, DKE, DIN, and PTB) and Brazil (including Inmetro, ABRIQ, IPEM-SP, and IQA), the session focused on the integration of digital QI tools, data spaces, and interoperable trust solutions.

Prominent on the agenda were technical discussions regarding Digital Product Passports (DPPs), e-attestations, and SMART standards, alongside an exploration of joint German-Brazilian interoperability tests for Digital Calibration Certificates (DCCs). Ultimately, the meeting successfully outlined pathways for conformity assessment bodies to leverage digitalization to boost global competitiveness, safety, and future bilateral collaboration.

On April 23, 2026, a technical exchange on Digital Product Passports (DPPs) was held at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin), bringing together German and Brazilian experts to foster collaboration on quality assurance and circular economy practices. Moderated by the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI), the event featured insights into TU Berlin's "Smart Eco-Pass" project—which develops interoperable framework solutions for electronics and wood/paper use cases—alongside updates on German-Brazilian cooperation regarding Digital Calibration Certificates (DCCs).

The exchange, which drew key institutional representation from BMWK, Fraunhofer IPK, DIN, Inmetro, ABRIQ, and IPEM-SP, concluded with an interactive tour of the Production Technology Center test field to demonstrate practical, real-world applications of data-service ecosystems.

On April 23, 2026, the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI) moderated a bilateral expert exchange in Berlin focused on the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence standardisation.

Hosted at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the event brought together German and Brazilian experts to align on regulatory frameworks, metrological criteria for safe AI, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies like agentic AI into accredited conformity assessment. Featuring key insights from prominent organizations like DAkkS, BAM, and Inmetro’s AI Center (CIAI), the session laid a strong foundation for future German-Brazilian collaboration to ensure safe, reliable, and globally harmonized AI standards.
