GPQI and MDIC discussed the Digital Product Passports at Brasil Legal National Seminar
Brazil
The panel titled "Traceability, Regulation, and Competitiveness: Impacts on the National and International Markets" featured Carolina Amarante, Director of the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI). Moderated by Police Chief Waldomiro Milanesi (Civil Police of São Paulo) and enriched by insights from Antonio Rebouças (FIESP) and Natália Semeria Ruschel (MDIC), the debate explored how innovative tracking technologies can support origin identification, brand protection, and loss prevention across industries. During her presentation, Carolina Amarante provided a global perspective on the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
GPQI Brazil is actively working to prepare the Brazilian ecosystem for this shifting landscape. Current initiatives include:
- Establishing a dedicated Working Group on the DPP.
- Launching an informative roadshow to raise awareness.
- Forging strategic partnerships with key institutions—such as ABNT, Inmetro, USP/TU Berlin, and SENAI-SP/FIESP—to ensure the interoperability of these digital passports.
