Save the Date: 10th Annual Meeting of the Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure

India

Shaping the Future of Quality Infrastructure

A strong and modern quality infrastructure is vital for fostering innovation, ensuring product safety, and enabling fair and rules-based international trade. For over a decade, Germany and India have worked hand in hand to strengthen bilateral cooperation in QI - now, the partnership marks a new milestone.

On 16 July 2025, the Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure will convene for its 10th Annual Meeting at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

The meeting will bring together high-level representatives from ministries, standardisation and accreditation bodies, industry associations, and companies from both countries.

The Working Group, jointly led by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Indian Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD), was established in 2013. It aims to reduce technical barriers to trade, enhance product safety, and align regulatory frameworks to support smoother and safer market access for businesses.

This year’s Annual Meeting provides a platform to reflect on the achievements of the past year and to continue the bilateral dialogue on Quality Infrastructure. In the meeting the Indo-German Working Group will explore topics such as digitalization in various aspects of quality infrastructure and India’s evolving regulatory landscape, including the Omnibus Technical Regulation. A highlight of the event will be the presentation and official signing of the new Work Plan 2025–26, which outlines future areas of cooperation between the two countries.
