Symposium on EU Machinery Directive

On 7 June 2013, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMWi), Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission (DG ENTR) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) have jointly hosted a symposium on EU Machinery Directive in Shanghai.

On 7 June 2013, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMWi), Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission (DG ENTR) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) have jointly hosted a symposium on EU Machinery Directive in Shanghai. The symposium was opened by Dr. Sven Halldorn, Director General, Technology Policy, BMWi, together with Mr. Wang Xin, Director General, Supervision on Inspection, AQSIQ, after a welcome speech by Mr. Zhou Juwen, Deputy Director General.

 

Aiming at facilitating the exchange of expertise and information with regard to the EU Machinery Directive, the participating professionals were provided with a direct communication platform with international experts. In the meantime, an overview of China’s system of inspection and supervision on mechanical products exported to the EU was also presented to the audience. The event was framed by several expert presentations which are available in our download section. Over 100 participants in total attended the symposium, among them were officials from regional Entry-Exit Bureaus (CIQ), representatives from German and Chinese industry and industry associations as well as certification bodies.

 

The symposium was jointly organized by GIZ, Shanghai CIQ, Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine (CAIQ) and EU-China Trade Project II (EUCTP II).
