Report Technical Expert Group Network Communication (NetCom)

The Technical Expert Group (TEG) Network Communication (NetCom), a joint initiative between China and Germany, has published a key report detailing the collaborative work on the future of industrial communication for Industrie 4.0 (I4.0).

The report's core focus is guaranteeing that Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) enables high-speed Ethernet to handle critical tasks reliably, and that Resource Allocation Protocol (RAP) allows machines to reserve network bandwidth predictably.

It summarizes joint research and testing efforts and details real-world challenges—from addressing clock synchronization errors in China’s large-scale testbed to LNI 4.0’s work on the new IEEE P802.1DD standard.

The findings from this collaboration will directly feed into major international standardisation organizations like IEEE and IEC.
